We’ve prepared the following information to help you understand the taxes, surcharge, fees and assessments you may see on your Allstream invoice.
Allstream administers its customer billing in accordance with the rules and guidelines set forth by tax authorities. Various jurisdictions and government agencies assess taxes, fees, and surcharges for telephone-related services and programs such as E911 (Emergency Services) that telecommunications providers are obligated to collect from their customers and remit to these agencies. There are also surcharges that telecommunications providers are permitted to pass through to customers to help recover certain costs of doing business.
Allstream charges include, but are not limited to, sales and use taxes, franchise fees and emergency services surcharges, and may vary by jurisdiction. If you need more information about a specific tax or surcharge, contact Allstream Customer Care.
