Allstream is making changes in our US 911 network that may impact you.
ACTION REQUIRED: If you use a third-party provider for station level 911 service (PS/ALI), please take action by June 27, 2022 to help ensure accurate location information in the event of a 911 emergency call.
Station level 911 service allows companies who have employees or phones located in multiple areas, within a single location, to provide detailed location information to emergency personnel e.g., to direct them to a specific floor or area of a building.
If you currently manage station level 911 location information through a third-party provider, Allstream will no longer support third party station level 911 service (PS/ALI) in conjunction with your 911 calls.
There are two options you can take:
- Option 1: You can continue to use a third-party provider for station level 911 service, but you must secure a direct connection to that provider and reprogram your PBX or other equipment to redirect 911 calls over that connection.
- Option 2: Allstream can now provide station level 911 service as a replacement for your third-party provider.
